spcaLA has been serving Southern California since 1877 as an independent, nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals through Education, Law Enforcement, Intervention, and Advocacy. spcaLA can provide media quotes, position statements, subject matter experts, interviews, and visuals, concerning a variety of topics including sheltering services, animal behavior and training, humane education, animal welfare law, and more.
Guidelines for Referring to spcaLA in Print
- Refer to as spcaLA or Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles.
- DO NOT refer to spcaLA as a chapter, or characterize spcaLA as a part of any other organization. There is no national, international, umbrella, or parent “spca” or humane society.
- Even if spcaLA begins a sentence, the “spca” should be lower case and “LA” should be uppercase.
- Do not hyphenate, use periods to separate the letters in spcaLA, or otherwise insert spacing or punctuation into the agency name.
